Liz Craig-Walker's golf has been improving at a rapid rate and so much so that she achieved a huge golfing milestone last week by winning one of the ladies' major trophies in the form of the Barnes Trophy.

Not only does Liz get her name on the honours boards but she also did it sensational style with an eleven under par nett 59. Liz's victory shows what a rewarding game golf can be when you persevere with it and within a couple of years of taking up the game Liz is a major winner!!

It was hard lines on Jane Elliott who's score of nett 63 would usually be good enough to take first place but on this occasion, she had to settle for being the Barnes Trophy bridesmaid!

Margaret Dutton was third on nett 68 and Liz's wife Sarah Walker-Craig was also near the top with a nett 69.

There was also a good winning score in the nine-hole Stableford as Rita Milburn took the win with 23 points, second was Joyce Graham on 19 points and Kath Hough third also on 19 points.
