Colin's magnificent Medal victory!

Colin Fisher had enjoyed a solid season without notching a win but he put this right on Saturday after claiming the August Medal honours with a fine nett 64. With the win, Colin claims a coveted place in the September Hartford Masters.

Colin was flying on the front nine but a brilliant birdie on 17 offset a few wobbly holes as he finished off his round. The birdie proved crucial as Colin just held off the challenge of Dave Gibson who returned a nett 65. At least Dave had the consolation of winning division one, Dave Britton was runner-up on 67 whilst division two runner-up was Alan Royle also on nett 67.

On another day of good scoring in the sunshine, the top 12 players all played to their handicaps or better.

Colin heads off this week to represent us in the national finals of the Handicap Golfer of the year trophy dubbed 'the race to Woodhall Spa' and he should head there full of confidence after his Medal win!

This Saturday is the Captain's Charity Day Texas Scramble hosted by Captains Andie Fraser and Jayne Boden, let's hope we can raise lots of money for Breast Cancer Prevention, St Lukes Hospice and the Alzheimers Society.
