Clothing spotlight As I'm writing this latest newsletter, temperatures have dropped and we've had a few crisp, frosty mornings - it seems appropriate then that the recently released clothing line from adidas golf is called the Frostguard range. I've been wearing the full zip Frostguard jacket and there is also a vest and sweater in the range, all designed to keep you warm and playing golf no matter how cold the weather. So does it work? Here is a review: Looks: A very stylish jacket with padded body detail that gives it a modern and sporty look, you could definitely wear this jacket both on and off the course as it looks so fashionable and not too 'golfy'. Also the 3 colours it comes in are very eye-catching and the white version is particularly striking. Perhaps missing a black option though but definitely worth 9/10. Technology: Part of the 'tour' clothing range so this jacket will be worn by the best players in the world and adidas are not skimping in any way - primaloft provides zonal warmth insulation but it's extremely light. The jacket's 4 way stretch allows freedom to swing in and ultimate ease of movement. Details such as a waterproof zip and cuffed sleeves add to the premium feel and performance of this jacket, a solid 9/10. Performance: Probably the warmest and lightest golf jacket that I have ever worn, it's incredible how thermal it is yet very lightweight. The best thing you can say about this jacket is that you hardly know you have it on but you will be thankful you do if it gets cold out on the course. Has to be a 10/10. Value for money: There is a Galvin Green jacket that contains primaloft technology too but it's priced at £100 more than the adidas version so value for money wise this jacket is right up there, it has to be the best all round winter jacket on the market. Your clothing is an often over-looked part of your golf equipment and at £119 you could get a lot of use out of this jacket over the winter, another 9/10.
