New Titleist 915 range has arrived
We are an authorised Titleist fitting centre and we are pleased to announce that we are one of the first places in the country to have already received the new Titleist 915 range of drivers, fairway woods and hybrids - we now have a full range to try and for custom fittings and if you order a club it will arrive by mid November. The new Titleist 915 range is one of the most hotly anticipated launches this year boasting new Active Recoil Channel (ARC) technology allowing faster ball speeds across the whole of the club face even on mis-hits and very high MOI meaning extreme forgiveness, also ARC's spin reducing design is the primary reason why Titleist believes the 915 series is a real game-changer.

Andie is the 3 club specialist
The ever popular 3 club challenge was played on Saturday and considering all the players were only allowed to use 2 clubs and a putter the scoring was again exceptionally good. The winner was Andie Fraser who used a 6 iron and pitching wedge as well as his putter to great effect in scoring 42 points, Andie played especially well on the back nine including a birdie on the fifteenth, coincidentally the last time he won was also the 3 club challenge back in 2008, maybe you should use three clubs every time Andie!
In a plug for our custom fitting department Andie had been struggling a bit with his irons so recently visited us for a fitting and he purchased a new set of made to measure PING irons, they have obviously really helped his game and allowed him to return to winning ways, if you want to improve your golf you know where to find us!
In second place was Simon Stephenson who also used a 6 iron and pitching wedge to score 41 points including a birdie two on the fourteenth hole, third place went to Alan Tayler on 38 points. Our rising young England star Rhys Nevin also played and he again showed his quality scoring four birdies including three two's.
The next competition is the nine hole Winter League first round this Saturday, we’ve had a record number of entries but it's still not too late to enter - however you need to have paid your entry fee by Saturday, if you would like to play but haven't got a partner just let me know and I'm sure that we can fix you up.

The ladies Di Sommerville Vase was played on Sunday and there was a good turn out of ladies for it, there was a first time winner as Christine Lever claimed victory with a fantastic score of 41 points, Christine is relatively new to the club so it's great to see her getting her name at the top of the results. Christine's score was just good enough to edge out 13 handicapper Evelyn Vass, Evelyn always features near the top of the leaderboard and she scored two birdies in her 40 points total, in third place was Ann Rowland with 38 points.
The ladies played a friendly team match recently at home to Sandbach Golf Club, I'm pleased to report the ladies claimed a 3-1 victory - well done ladies!
Senior Vice-Captain Roger Wilkinson organised his away day at nearby Malkins Bank Golf Club last week and a good day was had by all - apart from a slight mishap with Roger getting run over by a run away buggy! The winner was Tom Hutchinson, second was Geoff Dodd and third was Roy Strefford.
On Tuesday the seniors showed what a hardy lot they are as they battled through the wind and rain as we were hit by the remnants of hurricane Gonzalo, Ken Powell defied the tough conditions the best to score 18 points including a brilliant birdie on two on hole five, in second place was last year's captain Roy Strefford and in third was Frank Cleaver. Well done to all the seniors that turned out!

It's that time of year when we have had a bit of a clear out in the fitting room as we reach the end of the season and we are selling off many of our ex demo clubs - there are drivers, fairway woods and hybrids in mens and ladies, as well as left hand clubs and with various shafts ranging from seniors to X-stiff, the clubs are all this years models from TaylorMade, Callaway, Nike, Titleist and PING. Buggies now available to hire
You may have noticed we have had two buggies parked outside the clubhouse, these are now available to hire if you feel like taking the strain out of your round! They are available to hire at the bargain price of £10 for nine holes and £15 for 18 holes.
Presentation Evening coming up soon
It's that time of year again when we present all the summer prizes, this is always a highlight of the year and is a great chance for us all to get together and celebrate the season's winners (and commiserate with the losers!) and look back at a another great season. It takes place on Friday 24th October with a 7pm for 7.30pm start.
All prize winners are encouraged to attend including senior and lady golfers and guests are more than welcome with a smart casual dress code, there is a 3 course meal around the presentation and tickets are very reasonably priced at just £15 each .
