Double your money with TaylorMade

If you have watched any golf on TV recently, you will have noticed a number of the leading players in the world using the TaylorMade M1/M2 drivers and fairway woods - Rory Mcilroy, Dustin Johnson and Jason Day are among those that use these distinctive white headed clubs that are known for their super fast ball speeds and incredible distance.

2017 M Driver Testing - Athlete reactions.

If you've fancied purchasing one for yourself, now is the ideal time as we have a double trade in offer running in store. When you purchase a 2017 TaylorMade M1 or M2 metal wood you can trade in your old club and get double the trade in value, so if your old driver is valued at £50 we'll give you £100 off the purchase price of your new club!

When you trade in we'll take any old club - the maximum we can give for a traded in club is £75 which is doubled up to £150 off the price of a new club, the only other stipulation is that it must be like for like on the trade in so we'll only take old metal woods not set of irons or wedges or putters. Away weekends

It was quiet here at the weekend as Captain Ian Wharton and Lady Captain Sandra Peake had both organised their respective away weekends. The men went off to Oulton Park near Leeds whilst the ladies descended on Formby Hall near Liverpool. Apparently a good time was had by all and the weather was reasonable without too much rain, at Oulton Hall the Captain's team won the Calvert Cup by the convincing score of 12-4 against Vice-Captain Dave Shering's team.

For the ladies Sue Gunning came out on top on the Saturday which was the main individual competition day, here are a few photos from the weekend.

PING fitting day

PING have recently launched a serious bit of new kit with the G400 range of clubs. Having already carried out a number of fitting sessions, we can report that PING have come up with the goods again with clubs that not only look good but offer high ball speeds and extreme forgiveness as well as a solid feel.

Having watched that surely you want to try the new G400's now! Luckily we have a fitting day coming up next Thursday 17th August from 2pm-6pm in which you can enjoy a FREE custom fitting session. New course record Open

As you will all be aware there has been a lot of work going on recently at our sister golf club, Pryors Hayes near Chester, work on the course has culminated in its lengthening to over 6,000 yards and it has a new par of 70 with the first hole playing to a new green which now makes it a par 5. Pryors Hayes has the relatively unique feature of back to back par 5's to start, which can be a big hitters dream start!

To celebrate the launch of the new course set up, Pryors Hayes are holding an Open pairs competition on Friday 8th September and they're billing it as the ‘New Course Record Open’ as it is every golfers chance to set a new course record on the new 6,181 yard layout. The competition is open to professional and amateur golfers so there will be two new course record set on the day and there will also be some great prizes on offer with the format being either Pro-Am or Am-Am.
