It's been another busy week both on and off the golf course as the weather has been improving and we've got news of lots of great offers for you this week including:

Old Clubs Amnesty 

We're sure that many of you will have noticed that American Golf are running a double trade in offer at the moment on old clubs, the deal does have its drawbacks though hidden in a lot of small print! For example they use an American value site and then convert at a 1.5 rate against the pound, also they insist that you buy new clubs and like for like and they won't take in old wedges or give you store credit. But also more importantly American Golf may have what looks a great trade in offer but they aren't particularly cheap on the retail price of new clubs and will probably charge you the full RRP! 

We have a much better alternative for you as we're declaring an old clubs amnesty, bring in any old clubs that you want to get rid of and we'll give you a fair trade in price, you can have the amount in terms of a credit note that can be used in our store against any other items and you can use the credit at your leisure, simple as that! 

So bring your old clubs in now and claim your credit note!




Hartford Distance Gained Challenge 

The leaderboard is hotting up in our Distance Gained Challenge, at the weekend we saw golfer Dave Cotterill increase his distance by 20 yards after a fitting for the new TaylorMade M2, we lofted him up which gave him a nice little draw shape and much more distance against his old PING Rapture driver. 

Just in case you've missed out on the Distance Challenge, we are looking for the golfer that can increase the distance the most on their drives as a result of a custom fitting session and we're offering a FREE fairway wood to match the new driver - last year our biggest gain was a huge 45 yards and we can virtually guarantee some extra distance - how nice would that be for new season!

Masters Sweepstake 

It's now only 3 weeks until the Masters Tournament at Augusta, to celebrate the first major of the year we're again running our popular sweepstake. Tickets are now available in store at £3 each with £300 worth of prizes up for grabs with a £100 voucher for the winner, £50 for second place, £30 for third place and a booby prize of £10 for the last player after 2 rounds. For each day there is also a £25 voucher to be won for the best individual score of the day.

The ladies played two competitions last week and it was a good few days for Christine Paxton, she took the top spot on Sunday in the ladies strokeplay event with a nice nett 67 and on Thursday she paired up with ladies vice-captain Sandra Peake to score a nett 71 and win the last ladies Greensomes of the winter. 

A quick reminder that the ladies AGM takes place on Thursday 23rd March at 7pm, all lady members are encouraged to attend if possible. 

The entry sheet is now up for the Lady Captain's drive in on Thursday 6th April when Sandra will drive into office, there are already 24 ladies entered and it should be a great day, don't forget to put your name down if you can make it. 




The seniors Winter League drew to a close last Tuesday and after the 6 rounds the winner was Chris Lee, Chris had led the table throughout the winter and his steady 18 points in the last round helped him hold off the challenge of Andy Goolding in second place. 

  
Pete Wildin won on the day with a score of 20 points including a brilliant birdie two on the fifth hole.
