Adidas Spring Summer 2016

Well it's a very warm welcome to our latest newsletter as we've had a great bit of sunny weather at last!

We're starting this week with a fun challenge - have a look here at the video of ladies European Tour player Carly Booth showing off her skills on the first tee in Morocco last week, if any of our readers can recreate this feat on our first tee we'll give you a free bucket of range balls!!

This week's news stories:

- Our Complete Equipment Solution success stories begin
- Our team's great victory in the sun
- Alaine is the main lady in the Stableford
- Yet another great £50 OFF trade in offer for you
- Seniors news
- Upcoming events

Complete Equipment Solution

We had a busy week in our fitting studio last week as we fitted a number of golfers including an 85 year old who still plays off 10, a Cheshire regular who plays off scratch and a lady who has just taken up the game and wanted to do things properly! The CES will benefit you no matter what your level of ability, we will make sure you get the right equipment to suit your game and through a FREE fitting and when you purchase your clubs we will also give you a FREE follow up half hour lesson to make sure your technique is just right.

Just last week we had a chap in called Francis who plays off 13 and had been using a stiff shaft in his irons as he thought it felt better, after hitting some shots on the launch monitor and a bit of advice from our expert professional's he tried a lighter regular steel shaft and a slightly more forgiving club head (Callaway XR) - the result was iron shots that not only flew straighter but he picked up around 20 yards in distance on his 7 iron! Kevin now has his follow up lesson booked in too so when his new clubs arrive he will be using them with confidence and we wouldn't mind betting that his handicap will soon fall!

This kind of success story is in no way a one off - the CES will benefit any golfer, it really is the best offer we run all season so take advantage of it now. Have a look at this video from TaylorMade

Club teams

We welcomed Oak Royal Golf Club in Lancashire to us on Sunday for an annual friendly match, and the weather was fantastic with a healthy turnout of 18 players on each team including a number of ladies. We're pleased to report that Hartford had a resounding victory of 7.5-1.5 and thanks to Jane Broodryk for stepping in at the last minute after we had a drop out. Well done to Captain Paul Underwood and the team!

The course was looking wonderful at the weekend in the sunshine, here is a view of the ninth green from the patio. This Sunday we play the Benny Trophy, please note the first tee-time is 10:52am.

Ladies news

The ladies have played two more competitions in the last week, last Thursday there were a total of 27 ladies competing in the nine hole Stableford, the winner was Alaine Britton on 19 points, second place went to Sue Bradley on 18 points, Sue also had a birdie on the second hole, in third place was Joyce Graham also on 18 points.

Here are Alaine and Sue with Lady Captain Audrey.

Then on Monday there was the first evening Stableford of the summer and again conditions were perfect with warm sunshine and a nice gentle breeze, Jo Cameron won her second competition in a row with 22 points and for this good form she sees her handicap drop from 29 to 27. Sue Bradley had her second runners up spot in a week with 20 points and Kath Hough took third with 19 points.

Due to the ladies section expanding and more and more playing on a Thursday morning the first ladies tee-time has now moved forward to a 9:24am start.

Seniors section

There was a nine hole seniors Stableford on Tuesday morning, conditions were a little overcast but remained dry, the winner was 20 handicapper Bob Bowen who scored 20 points including a run of four pars in five holes, second place went to Pete Dawson and third went to Ray Gilliland both on 18 points. There were four two's scored on the fifth hole - sounds like it was a generous pin position!

Next week the seniors play a nine hole Texas Scramble, but we don't think they're going with Tony Ledson's idea of choosing the worst shot each time!

Shop news

Another great trade in deal for you

Regular readers will know that we are continually extolling the benefits of using a GPS device on the golf course and many of you have taken our advice and got yourselves a unit that measures your shot distance and tells you how far you have to the flag, I'm sure all of you that use a GPS unit such as a watch would say that they definitely help your game and give you a much better idea about how far you hit each club.

The good news is that if you fancy an upgrade to a newer device we have another great trade in offer for you on all SkyCaddie models and it's very cash rich! Trade in any old GPS unit no matter what condition and we'll give you a massive £50 OFF any new SkyCaddie GPS watch or unit.

We have new models in stock and the watches start from £129 so with the trade in deal that would cost you just a ridiculous £79!

Shop news

We've had more new clothing and shoes arrive in the shop from Nike, adidas, Galvin Green and PING just in time for this nice weather - we've had a lot of shorts and cool shirts in a number of attractive colours, here's a selection of some of the stunning new stock please call in to have a look as the photos don't do some of these vibrant styles full justice!
