February Medal review It was another wet day on Saturday for our Medal that was played as a Stableford competition, despite the cold damp weather the scoring was very good. The winner was 7 handicapper Gareth Eaton with a fine score of 42 points, Gareth hasn't played a great deal over the winter but when he does, his name usually features near the top of the leader board. He got off to a perfect start with a birdie on the 1st hole and after bogies on 8 and 9 he played a flawless back nine with 8 pars and another birdie on the difficult 13th hole. There was a close battle for second place with Paul Underwood edging out Ben Barrow who both scored 41 points, Paul had a steady round with one birdie whereas Ben was a lot more up and down with four birdies and an outward nine score of 24 points but he couldn't quite keep this going on the back nine. This Sunday we play the next round of the Winter League with an 11am start, a future date for your diaries is the start of the new season when the Captain's Drive in and April Medal takes place rather strangely in March on Saturday 24th March at 12:04pm.
