Winter League review Every year the scores seem to get better in the Winter League and Sunday was a great example of this. Conditions weren't ideal as there was a cold biting wind buffeting the course but the scores were probably the best we've ever had in a Winter League round. The winning score was an incredible 27 points from two of the biggest bandits in the club in Paul Rotherham and Andy Goolding, they both showed their full potential on Sunday as they scored a birdie a piece as well as 5 pars to set up what could be the best score we've ever had in a Winter League round. Second placed Ian Wharton and Wendy Lock also had an exceptional score of 26 points which normally would have been enough to win, Captain Ian scored a good birdie on the fourth hole. To round off the good scoring, Keira Wharton and James Eaton took third with 25 points, they fired an impressive three birdies between them and the top 9 pairs all scored 20 points or more. The next round is coming up on Saturday 27th January, let's see if anyone can beat this week's 27 point score. The top four positions are now: - 1st - Ian Wharton & Wendy Lock = 112 points
- 2nd - Keira Wharton & James Eaton = 111 points
- 3rd - Antony Green & Dave Johnson = 104 points
- 4th - Gareth Eaton & Liam Tyrer = 103 points
