July Medal Review
Alan Tayler has had a very consistent season and this continued on Saturday as he won the July Medal with an excellent nett 65, again the course was in great condition and it suited Alan down to the ground as he put behind him a slow start to burst into life on hole 6 with a birdie, another one followed on hole 8 and on the back nine Alan parred four of the last five holes to set up his winning score.
It was a bit of a surprise that Alan was the only player to break par on Saturday, second place went to Kieran Underwood who had three birdies in his nett 70 but an 8 on hole 12 scuppered Kieran's chances of winning. Dave Shering took third spot with a nett 71. Well done to winner Alan who now qualifies for the season ending Hartford Masters competition.
In the Order of Merit Martin Major still has a commanding lead over Alan Tayler and Kieran Underwood but there are still plenty of competitions to go!
This weekend it's the big one as we play our Club Championship on Saturday, it's an 11am start and the entry sheet is filling up but there is still time to put your name down to play, there is a best gross and best nett place on the majors honours board up for grabs.
