Welcome to our weekly newsletter and it's not been a great week in terms of the weather but the course is still open as usual and on all the normal greens, at this time of the year we're very thankful that we have such a well-draining course that is playable all year round despite all the deluges!

- Angel on top of the tree in Midweek Stableford
- Let us show you how to play golf in the wind

November Bogey Review
11 handicapper Ian Daines has been having great success with his new Titleist 816 hybrid, in fact so much so that he ordered another 2 hybrids to replace his long irons - he collected them from us on Saturday morning and proceeded to take them out on the course and romp away with the November Bogey with a brilliant score of 7 up.
Ian had 1 birdie and just 5 bogeys with a run of 6 straight pars to finish in a very steady round of golf but somehow he still hangs on to his 11 handicap at 10.5!
Just last week we brought you a video review of the excellent Titleist 816 hybrids that have been one of the bestselling clubs in our shop this year, in case you missed it have a watch of the short video here: https://splice.gopro.com/v?id=3JwXjBL62
Second place went to Dave Shering on 4 up, Dave has also just bagged a new Titleist 917 driver and fairway wood that he was custom fitted for - further evidence of how your golf can improve and you can play with more confidence when you have the right equipment! Stuart Gray has been in good form recently and this continued as he took third place with a 3 up score.
Going back to the subject of club fitting we noticed from the recent survey we sent out that around 50% of you still haven't been custom fitted, results like the ones above shows how much custom fitting WILL benefit ANY golfer, contact me now to enquire about a custom fitting session now and we can show you how it will help your game.
Midweek Stableford
Any day now Mike Angel will be undergoing major ankle surgery and he will be out of action for a few months so it was nice to see him bowing out in style with a win in the Midweek Stableford with a score of 44 points including 3 birdies, not bad for a 14 handicapper!
In second place was Paul Foster who always seems to be near the top of the leaderboard, Paul scored 41 points and in third place was Phil Carr on 38 points.
The next competition is round four of the Winter League starting at 11am this Saturday.

Christmas gift ideas
Another amazing statistic from our recent equipment survey is that nearly a quarter of you confessed that you don't know how far you hit each golf club!
This is a worrying figure but it's a problem that can be easily fixed - one of the most popular items in our shop are the distance measuring GPS devices from Bushnell and SkyCaddie that start from £129 - we've not met a golfer yet who hasn't agreed that using a GPS watch has improved their game and given them a better idea about how far they hit each club.
In fact we think distance measuring devices are so important that they are essential for any golfer - how can you possibly play your best golf if you have no idea how far your clubs go or how far away the flag is?!
Call in to the shop and we can talk you through the range and they make an ideal Christmas present!
