It's another warm welcome to our latest newsletter and we hope that you enjoyed the sunny Bank Holiday weekend. It's not long now until the Ryder Cup being played at Hazeltine National and it looks set to be another close affair, on paper the Americans probably have the stronger team and they enjoy home advantage but will Europe's indomitable team spirit carry them through to defend the famous Trophy and win for the fourth time in a row?
Just to whet your appetite a little bit more have a look at this video here of the moment Jamie Donaldson hit an almost perfect iron shot on hole 15 to secure a European victory at Gleneagles in 2014.

Bank Holiday Stableford Review
We were lucky enough to have a lovely sunny Bank Holiday Monday and there was a good turnout for the Stableford competition, the scoring was good and there was a battle at the top as Gary Cashmore just edged out James Eaton as they scored 43 and 42 points respectively. 14 handicapper Gary had a storming front nine of 22 points including a birdie on hole 6, on the back nine he continued in a good vein with 5 pars in 6 holes, even though Gary finished with three bogeys he still racked up 43 points and sees a handicap reduction to 12.5.
Gary has definitely had an upturn in his golf since he bought a custom fitted driver from us a couple of months ago, we recommended that Gary use a driver with a slightly shorter shaft to give him a bit more control and the results speak for themselves as he is now driving the ball with more confidence and scoring better than ever, well done Gary!
6 handicapper James Eaton had also been burning the course up, James hasn't played much recently and he only took 5 clubs out with him in a pencil bag, this didn't stop him scoring an impressive 6 birdies in his first 15 holes - at that stage he was 4 under par gross and 3 pars to finish would have given him a new course record. It's a tough finish though at Hartford and two double bogeys saw James end up on 42 points and the course record of 66 stands for another day.
John Gunning took third spot with 39 points including a massive 24 points on the back nine, John has also invested in some new custom fitted clubs and we're sure a win is just around the corner!
The next competition is this Saturday as we play our September Medal starting at 12:04pm, it's the last chance for one player who hasn't already done so to qualify for the Hartford Masters so competition should be fierce!
Our fitting days are always popular events and we are lucky enough to have another day coming up with TaylorMade on Thursday 22nd September from 2-6pm.
You can book a FREE half hour fitting slot with equipment expert Danny Morris on any of the current TaylorMade 2016 range and also remember we have a double trade in deal on at the moment where you receive double the value of your trade in club (up to a maximum of £150) against a new M1 or M2 driver, fairway or hybrid.
Not only have we got the double trade in deal but if you order a set of PSi irons (minimum of 6 sticks) we will give you a FREE M1 hybrid with an RRP of £189, that is a seriously cash rich offer and one you would be crazy to miss out on!
The bestselling fairway wood in our shop at the moment is the TaylorMade M2 and it's a seriously good piece of kit, have a look at this video of the first time tour players hit the fairway woods and just see their reactions!

The ladies played a sunny Summer Stableford on Thursday and the winner was Joyce Graham with 37 points, this was Joyce's first victory of the season so it was good to see her win.
In second place was in form Kath Hough on 34 points, Kath had a nice birdie three on the 4th hole, Alison Worrall came third with 33 points.
The next ladies competition is a nine hole Stableford next Thursday, the draw has also taken place for the ladies Autumn Pairs so check the ladies noticeboard if you have entered.
Who wouldn't like to brush up on their game this autumn? Our PGA professional Adam Powell is running the next block of his popular golf schools, a 10 week course costs just £65 for 10 hours of tuition and there are four session times to choose from each week - 7pm or 8pm on Wednesdays and 10am or 12:30pm on Thursdays.
In the package all aspects of the game will be covered from long game to short game and even course management, and places are strictly limited to 9 people per session so you will get plenty of help from Adam.
