We read an interesting article the other day, it said...
'Tiger Woods was once asked what his best tip would be for beginners.
His answer was to make sure the beginner was playing with custom fit clubs. Otherwise they will likely develop swing faults which could take years to correct.
He himself has played with customised equipment from day one. His dad made sure of that. So if you seriously want to improve at the game of golf, playing with customised clubs.'
We couldn't really have put that better ourselves, it's four years since we opened our custom fitting studio and we've helped over 2,000 golfers to improve their game - they have gained an increase in distance in total of nearly 10,0000 yards as well as hitting straighter shots and playing golf with more confidence.
If you are a relative beginner to golf or you only consider yourself an occasional player you could benefit the most from a custom fitting session, a good player could possibly adapt to their equipment but a novice golfer should have clubs to suit their swing to give them the most help.
A custom fitting session costs just £25 so it's not overly expensive and we can provide a custom fitted set of clubs for you from as little just a couple of hundred pounds, if you buy anything at all we won't charge you for the fitting! So what are you waiting for? Contact me here to get your fitting session booked in.
It was a lovely afternoon for the ladies Club Championship on Sunday and there was a strong field of lady golfers trying to win the trophy, left hander Keira Wharton has had a quiet season so far but she burst into life on Sunday and finished at the top with a fine nett 66 to win her second Club Championship, Keira also had the lowest gross score.
Kath Hough came second on nett 69 and Sandra Peake was third also on nett 69.
This Thursday the ladies play an 18 hole summer Stableford starting at 9:24am.
Captain's Away Day
Captain Paul Underwood took a group of 24 members to Forest Pines Golf Club near Scunthorpe for the annual away weekend, the weather was great and the golf course was playing well.
The weekend's golf consisted of a Ryder Cup style match between the Captain's team and the opposition team lead by Vice-Captain Ian Wharton, although Paul lost out to Ian in both their matches his team won overall by a score of 13.5-10.5.
Here is Ian handing the trophy to Paul.

As it was the last Tuesday of the month the seniors played an 18 hole Stableford, the winner was 14 handicapper Alan Clifford who got his first victory of the season with a 42 point haul, Alan got off to the perfect start with a birdie on the first hole and he added another birdie on the back nine to come back with 22 points.
Alan's strong back nine meant that he edged out Pete Dawson who also had 42 points, Pete had two birdies in his round and in third place was Andy Margeson - also scorer of 42 points and also with two birdies in his round, amazingly there was a total of six players that scored 42 points!
Senior member Andy Margeson loves his bright outfits and he had this very patriotic ensemble on the other day!
